I can proudly attest, “Gone are the days when individuals tried to fit their bodies into the said fashion trends and regretted it severely.”

With fashion causing an uproar on social media, more and more individuals have started to style themselves with authenticity and personal charisma. And we absolutely love it!

There are countless style archetypes among style enthusiasts;

I haven’t come across two individuals with the same style aesthetics; there’s always something personalized added to their outfit to make it uniquely theirs.

Of course, it doesn’t mean we are falling away from trends.

Trends will continue to exist, but individuals have started to add their own artistic approach to blending trends with their style aesthetics, body type, and choice.

Kibbe Soft Natural Body Type, Now What…?

Accommodation in the Kibbe System defines your body’s best-defining characteristics.

Instead of hiding characteristics that make you unique, Kibbe believes in highlighting them to bring the best out of your style.

Your geometry can be anything— verticality, width, hourglass figure, petiteness, voluptuous figure, broadness, etc.

In a way, Kibbe’s system was a big body-positive movement of his time— he welcomed different body archetypes in his system because beauty shouldn’t and cannot have one single definition.

Here’s a detailed overview of Kibbe’s system and Soft Natural Body Type to have a better understanding!

Please note: Kibbe’s system may sometimes make you feel boxed in or limited. It’s, therefore, recommended only to use his system to understand your body type and then use it to your advantage while determining your personalized style.

Let’s begin with Kibbe Soft Natural’s geometry:

In the Kibbe system, Natural body type is referred to as soft yang.

Soft Yang is not as extreme as Sharp Yang, i.e., it’s not as sharp, edgy, lean, or vertically tall as the Sharp Yang, but it follows closely behind. Instead of pointed edges, their frame has blunt or rounded corners.

When it comes to SNs, there’s a subtle amount of flesh present on their body, and that’s what gives them their title “Soft Naturals.”

  • Verticality: Soft Naturals are naturally vertical and elongated; this includes everything from their face to neck, torso, waist, and limbs.
  • Subtle flesh: Unlike Flamboyant Naturals, they have a subtle amount of flesh deposition throughout their body. This flesh is present on their face, breasts, hips, and limbs. They appear slightly fuller than flamboyant naturals. This subtle flesh deposition also gives them a slight waist definition.
  • Broadness with blunt edges: They have a broad body frame with rounded edges; this includes everything from tip to toe. Their faces are naturally broad, creating a rectangle/square shape with blunt chin, cheekbones, and jaws.

Just like their faces, the body frame is broad, including the torso and limbs with unsharpened edges including non-pointy shoulders.

Verticality, broadness, bluntness, and soft wrap of flesh are your main accommodations, and that’s what we will be highlighting today, along with making the choices perfect for the fall season.

A Complete Style Guide For Kibbe Soft Natural With Fall Outfits

Let’s start the fun part, shall we?

Soft naturals are known for their relaxed and trendy outfits.

They will forever remain cool, iconic, and catchy! However, can they also style a dress or adapt to different style aesthetics?

Can they also pull off seductive, innocent, classy, or gentle looks?

I’ll tell you a secret, my SNs: you absolutely can!

You can wear a dress, rock the night, and leave the crowd stunned. You can be stunning and fashionable at the same time.

Here’s how to leave the crowd stunned this autumn season. Let’s begin with accommodating your lines, and then we can move on to details.

Verticality Accommodation

You are naturally endowed with verticality. So, your first choice will be choosing outfits that complement your height, i.e., avoiding petite or short clothing.

For instance, pairing a crop top with high-waisted ankle-length jeans is a big NO!

You can, of course, pair a crop top with a bottom that gives space to elongate your height, i.e., a long straight skirt, long jeans, or a short low-rise skirt.

A short skirt works in this setting because it keeps your toned torso and long legs out on the display, allowing your verticality to breathe.

  • When it comes to tops, cropped varieties work, but keeping the length above or slightly below your belly length would be more flattering and fashionably in demand.
  • For Jeans/trousers/other similar varieties: Low-rise is the current trend, and it complements a toned torso quite gorgeously, especially when you keep your belly button uncovered. A high waist is also welcome.

You have to be keen on the length of the trousers/jeans/pants. Always choose relaxed and long jeans that reach your feet instead of your ankles.

P.S. Check out these top tips on shoes for women with wide feet.

While you are at it, choose loose or baggy fits instead of opting for tight pants. They make you appear shorter and restrained.

  • For skirts: When you choose a short skirt, a high waist will work against you. It will hide your torso’s verticality. Instead, go with low-rise (big belts) skirts. High-waist and low-waist work in long (straight) skirts. ¾ or floor length are both welcome.
  • For dresses: ¾ and floor length both work! We’ll discuss the silhouettes for all these variants shortly.

Soft Flesh: What Is It?

Unlike FNs, Soft Naturals do accommodate flesh, and it’s crucial to highlight that attribute of your body archetype.

To complement the gentle flesh on your body, you want to choose outfits that aren’t too loose or too fit on your body.

It should outline your figure without appearing too enclosed or tight. This goes for your tops, bottoms, dresses, etc.

If you are styling baggy bottoms, I suggest choosing a top that outlines your figure softly to add balance.

Waist definition: You have a subtle waist definition and it shouldn’t go unnoticed. So, clothes that flatter and outline your waist gently are a great choice, especially when going for an overall loose fit.

Broadness & Bluntness Accommodation

For Kibbe, natural’s most accommodating feature is their upper body width; it’s prominently visible on their shoulders.

Most individuals dislike this width because they have been forced to believe “It’s unwomanly or a masculine trait.”

It was Kibbe who made women realize there’s more to a woman’s body and beauty than what is forced on us through the mainstream lens.

Width doesn’t translate to masculine; it’s a feminine trait and very much womanly.

In fact, this particular trait adds to your overall buoyant, free-spirit, and carefree persona. It adds carefree power to your existence!

Bare those shoulders because they amplify your overall look.

Complement them with straps, asymmetrical necklines, and other shoulder-baring necklines such as boat-neck, deep V, deep u, square neck, scoops, etc.

Fall Fabric Choices For Soft Natural Body Type

Denim is already a big giveaway, but that’s not all! Most of the warm fabric varieties, such as fleece, wool, silk, leather, cotton, viscose, linen, and cashmere, work for the fall season and your soft, natural body type.

It’s still not all! While warm weaves are thicker in appearance, your body type also welcomes light-weight, soft, and delicate fabric choices, including printed georgette, printed chiffon, lace, mesh, translucent/transparent net, body-fitting stretchable fabrics, khaki, etc.

  • Denim: Denim is an all-rounder fabric choice; it’s good for dresses, jackets, jeans, tops, etc. Overall, it’s your go-to fabric choice for casuals. It works for the fall season because of the warmth the thick fabric brings along. However, denim should be a choice for casual events only! Don’t let it become your personality.
  • Fleece, cashmere, and other warm fabrics: They are great choices for your overcoats, sweatshirts, hoodies, and other casual varieties.
  • Wool is one of my favorites for the fall season because you can play with many great styles using this fabric, especially the loose-knit woolen fabric. A loosely woven wool makes for gorgeous tops and, sometimes, pretty skirts, too.

They are lightweight, unstructured, and come with a great fall, adding a soft and gentle vibe to your subtle flesh. They loosely hang on your body, and the loose-knitted fabric adds a carefree vibe to your overall appearance.

  • Printed Georgette and Chiffon Choices: Printed Georgette is the “GOAT” for soft naturals, especially when styling long skirts and dresses. The print can be a vague assembly of autumn colors molding together or subdued flowers. This particular fabric brings out your soft, natural appeal in the best way possible.
  • Sheer laces: Sheer tops are becoming my new favorite, whether body-fitting or loose. They have a soft appearance and add gentle details to your overall getup. Matching the sheer lace (yin) with denim (yang) would be like colliding two of the best worlds!

You go by the title “free spirit.” Not only are you allowed to experiment between the two extremes, you will slay them!

  • Khaki: Khaki is another great choice for dresses. However, instead of giving a sultry or gentle vibe, its crisp and clear texture adds a bohemian and earthy appeal to your getup.

Fall Colors For Soft Natural Body Type

Although the seasonal color palette should be your main source to determine what colors best suit you, try choosing something in subdued or muted chromas and values.

Earthy tones and autumn hues will always accentuate your persona.

Tops Inspired By The Fall Season

Natural body types are often misunderstood and heavily ignored because of the two famous adjectives used to describe the said archetype— Relaxed and carefree.

It makes individuals believe natural family is all about casual wear and that’s where they lose half of their charisma.

Sure, casual fits are a part of your overall personality, but that’s never all.

Natural means driven by nature and earthly— it’s carefree in a way that it’s deep-rooted, bohemian, and cultural.

It’s endowed with gorgeous patterns, colors, and a blend of many styles.

So, when styling your soft, natural body type, never forget your elements.

Three things to consider when choosing your tops:

  • Necklines
  • Sleeves
  • Sleeves
  • Hem
  • Back.
  • Added elements.

Necklines

Your necklines should be open and breathable. So, free straps are a go-to choice.

  • Asymmetrical necklines to complement your yang shoulders.
  • Deep V and Deep U necklines.
  • A Halter neckline is always welcome.
  • Open and oversized collars will emphasize your striking collarbone.
  • Body-fit turtleneck and high necks. Although they cover your skin, they outline your shoulders and upper torso quite prominently.
  • Boat neck
  • Front tie-knots.
  • Strapless

Sleeves

While you will slay spaghetti straps any day, full sleeves are a darling choice, too. Loose and long sleeves add a bohemian and free appeal to your getup.

  • Kimono sleeves
  • Bell Sleeves
  • Angel sleeves
  • Body-fit sleeves that reach your fingers.

These sleeves have a gentle and flowing appearance which goes really well with the fall season, especially when you add long ruffled details.

Avoid sleeve cuffs that wrap around your wrists, it signifies restriction which is strikingly opposite to your carefree and relaxed personality.

Back and Hem

Naturals have a neck for exposing skin, it adds to their charm. Their exposed skin has a natural and down-to-earth vibe. Instead of appearing overly sensual, they appear ethereal and down-to-earth.

So, you can choose to keep your back open if you’d like.

As for the hem (crop, bove-belly, or below-belly), all lengths work! However, styling them with the correct bottom is crucial.

Tops For Soft Naturals This Fall Season

Some gorgeous choices include:

  • Printed mesh tops
  • Translucent georgette tops with long ruffles (reaching your mid calves) at the hems.
  • Front tie-knots
  • Back tie-knots.
  • Lace-lined tops
  • Loose-knit woolen tops.
  • Loose shirts
  • Loose vests
  • Loose sweaters.

Bottoms For Soft Naturals This Fall Season

Low-rise has officially become the trend again, and I would be lying if I said I didn’t dig it. It’s gorgeous, flattering, complementing, daring, and iconic.

It flaunts your toned waist and belly button in the best way possible, whether you choose to go with a skirt or trousers/jeans.

I would suggest you choose low-rise jeans/skirts that aren’t body-hugging or suffocating, and they will make you across shorter than you actually are!

Low-rise plays well when you choose a bottom that’s loosely straight (sometimes, A-line works) and reaches its full length.

  • Low-waist loose-fit jeans.
  • Low-rise short denim skirt
  • A-line denim skirt reaching your knees or any unconventional length.
  • Long 3/4 low-rise, straight skirts
  • Ripped jeans
  • Transculent lace ¾ skirts
  • Loose-fit straight pants.

Soft Natural Fall Dresses

Soft Natural has a very different dress catalog than the romantic body type.

Instead of bodycon, your body type deviates more towards crisp dress choices that may or may not wrap/hug your body suggestively.

You like loose (A-line) and unstructured dresses, mostly made of khaki or linen material.

Instead of bodycon, choosing dresses that outline your figure gently or sitting on your figure half a meter away is widely recommended.

They don’t have to be too loose or too tight, just at the right equilibrium.

Layering For The Fall Season

Layering is quite an easy cake for your body type. Because you are essentially the rule breaker, you don’t necessarily need to match all your articles on your body.

They can have some similarities, but it’s alright to think out of the box.

  • Loose-knit shrugs for your dresses.
  • Oversized woolen vest over shirts and pants.
  • High-neck and turtlenecks under your base tops.
  • Loose-fit and asymmetrical overcoats.

Hairstyles and Makeup

Because your essence is natural, hairstyles should also be subtle, free, and flowy.

  • Long length with free waves and open hairdo.
  • Shoulder length works, too.
  • Shoulder-length wolf-cut adds a raw appeal to your overall aesthetics.
  • Messy high or low buns are a sweetheart choice.

As for makeup, keep it subtle and simple, too!

  • Nude colors for your eyes shadows and lipstick.
  • Natural blush.

Accessories

While hairstyles should be subtle, don’t hold back on accessories! You can accessorize as boldly and wildly as possible.
